Cultivated meat startup BeneMeat and other companies said UK investment is on hold as Britain negotiates a new food-trade deal with the EU, Green Queen reported. The UK's Food Standards Agency warned roughly 600 approval holders that the deal could void their UK clearances and force them back through the EU's novel food process, which can take up to six years. Only Meatly has cleared cultivated meat for sale in Britain so far, and only for pet food.

South Korea established formal approval standards for cultivated meat and Aleph Farms cleared Singapore's regulatory review, adding to its existing Israeli approval, Cultivated Meat News reported. The FDA moved the opposite direction, proposing mandatory safety notifications for the GRAS food ingredients cultivated meat relies on, while German startup Cultimate Foods shut down after failing to secure funding.

Third-party analysts at Arthur D Little project the price could reach 10 euros, or $11.65, per kilogram by 2030.

Aleph's Thin-Cut Steak blends 10% to 20% cultivated beef with a soy and wheat plant-protein base, and the company targets a first-half 2027 restaurant launch in Singapore.
