The footage pushed chicken welfare into the campaign, with four of the seven parliamentary parties now backing a ban on breeding chickens for fast growth, a practice Project 1882 says affects an estimated 95% of chickens raised across the EU. The fight is whether Sweden becomes the first country to ban fast-growth breeding and whether that pressures the practice EU-wide.
