Heather Mills was born on January 12, 1968. Long before she became a name in vegan food, she built a public profile as a model and campaigner and later through her marriage to Paul McCartney. In 2009 she bought a small manufacturer called the Redwood Wholefood Company and renamed it VBites Foods. That same year, on July 4, 2009, she opened a VBites vegan restaurant at Hove Lagoon in East Sussex, saying she wanted it to be the first in a worldwide chain. VBites grew from there into one of the UK's larger vegan meat and cheese alternative producers, manufactured out of a factory in Corby.
